Will AI replace me? Taub Center economists investigate effects on employment, joblessness - The Jerusalem Post
Researchers at the Taub Center for Social Policy Studies have published a study examining the impact of artificial intelligence on employment in Israel. The study found a significant rise in the share of unemployed individuals coming from occupations that are at high risk of being replaced by AI.
The study estimates that AI already explains between two percent and six percent of the change in the occupational distribution of the unemployed in Israel. This suggests that while AI is not yet the primary driver of job displacement, its influence is measurable and growing.
The findings come amid broader global debates about AI's potential to automate jobs across various sectors, with some workers already facing displacement.
