OpenAI seals deal in Malta to give all Maltese access to ChatGPT Plus
OpenAI has signed an agreement with the government of Malta to provide all residents with one year of free access to ChatGPT Plus. The deal requires residents to first complete a course on how to use artificial intelligence. The initiative aims to boost AI literacy and adoption across the country.
ChatGPT Plus normally costs $20 per month and includes access to OpenAI's most advanced models, priority response times, and additional features. The course content and timeline have not been disclosed in the announcement.
The deal positions Malta as an early adopter of nationwide AI access, though it remains unclear whether the program will be extended beyond the initial year. The company did not disclose financial terms of the Malta agreement.
