House lawmakers get a chilling demo of ‘jailbroken’ AI - Politico

Nothing says 'reassuring display of competence' quite like the Department of Homeland Security treating Congress to a closed-door demo of a chatbot happily helping you build a bomb. The DHS's National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology and Education Center (who knew that was a thing?) treated House lawmakers to a glorious showcase of just how easily a 'jailbroken' AI can plan a terror attack or launch a cyberattack. They could have sent a memo, but apparently, it's 2026 and the best way to inform the people's representatives is a live screening of CTOE of the Super-Bowl-ads-for-terror-recipes.
