Few CHROs say they feel very confident they can manage AI-driven change - HR Dive

LabourIndustry

Four per cent. That is not a confidence interval, it is a distress flare. The Conference Board asked U.S. The recruitment ads for this role did not mention that.

Then there is the 19%: the share who say AI's anticipated effects have actually been folded into enterprise-wide workforce and financial planning. Which is a polite way of reporting that roughly four in five companies are budgeting and hiring as though the technology were a rumour they heard at a conference. Nineteen per cent is not a planning culture; it is a pilot programme with a Slack channel.

None of this is a skills gap. You cannot build a two-year plan around a target the vendors redefine every quarter, and the CHRO is the executive asked to look serene while the board says 'AI readiness' and 'headcount' in the same breath. Two years, incidentally, is roughly how long it takes a large employer to agree on a new performance-review form.
