AI Policy Concerns Leapfrog DEI Worries in Survey of Executives

PolicyIndustry

The survey found that 84% of executives now expect artificial intelligence policy changes to affect their operations. This marks a significant increase from 42% in the prior year's survey.

In contrast, concerns about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policy have fallen sharply. Last year, 84% of respondents expressed worry about DEI policy impacts, but that figure has dropped to 38%. The survey thus documents a complete reversal in the relative importance of these two regulatory areas.

The shift may be driven by both new legislative proposals and increased awareness of AI's operational impact. The survey also suggests that DEI concerns, while still significant, have become less prominent as companies have adapted to existing requirements.
