Jensen Huang is so over the dire predictions of AI leaders like Dario Amodei - Business Insider
Jensen Huang, the AI equivalent of a gold rush shovel salesman, has decided that the real problem with artificial intelligence isn't the technology itself but the people warning about it. In a recent interview, Nvidia's CEO took aim at Anthropic's Dario Amodei for predicting that AI could replace 50% of entry-level white-collar jobs — a forecast that Huang dismisses as 'dire.' Because nothing says 'impartial observer' like the man whose quarterly earnings depend on everyone deploying as much AI as possible, as fast as possible.
And he didn't stop at labour market predictions. Oh no. Huang also swatted away Elon Musk's cheery '20% chance of annihilation' estimate, calling such talk 'fearmongering.' Yes, the same Elon Musk who co-founded OpenAI, warned about AI 'summoning the demon,' and now runs an entire department dedicated to gutting the federal government while tweeting about Terminator — that guy. But sure, Jensen, the only thing overblown is the risk.
Of course, this is the same Jensen Huang who famously said 'you can't just buy more computers, you have to buy more Nvidia GPUs.' Never mind that the 50% job replacement figure comes from Anthropic, a lab that actually builds the stuff — clearly they just need a pep talk from the man selling the picks and shovels.
