Chinese LLMs Broaden the Gap Between Attackers & Defenders - Dark Reading

ModelsSafetyResearch

Chinese companies have blessed us with two new LLMs this past month, and 360 Security Technology's Tulongfeng has already found 3,400 vulnerabilities.

That's 3,400 chances for defenders to patch things up — or for attackers to exploit them before the patches land, depending on who gets there first. The article gleefully notes this 'broadens the gap between attackers and defenders,' which is a bit like saying a loaded gun on the table broadens the gap between the quick and the dead.

And if you recall the Langflow ransomware attack, we've seen exactly how 'agentic' AI tools can be turned against their operators. Tulongfeng is supposedly for defence, but with frontier models in play, who's to say it won't be repurposed faster than a Chinese state actor can say 'zero-day'?
